In the late Joseon Dynasty, Songpa, near Seoul, was a region with the conditions for a commercial city, and it could naturally develop its economic power. The mask drama that was formed under these conditions is Songpa Sandaenori. It was performed mainly around the traditional holidays such as Jeongwol Daeboreum, Buddha’s Birthday, Dan-oh, the Buddhist All Souls’ Day, Chuseok.
